what turns you into a furry?

Trigger was my friend. We were talking about the internets when he asked me if I knew what yiff was. I didn't, and then it became kind of a debate on furries and stuph like that. And then a particular lion found me (creepy shit). And he found my friend who now thinks AA's freaky. Yup.

Um... For me, it started when I was young, influenced mostly by much of Disney's stuff (which often contained animal transformation or anthropomorphic animals). Eventually I started reading more and more books that included these themes, and when I was twelve (two years back) I began Googling for werewolf images and stuff. At some point I found that there was a huge amount of "furry" images out there, which introduced me to "furry" and infected me until I became one.

It took a while for me to get into the whole furry thing I seem to recall. I remember I was reading a comic called Adam and Andy (still going strong!). These were the days when websites still had a page of "favourite links" and among those was a webcomic called Unnatural But True (UBT). It wasn't the best drawn comic, its plot and content jumped around from time to time, but it was evocative and touched me deeply.

Sadly UBT is long gone but it was the beginning of my furry journey. A community gathered around the comic, similarly minded fans, an IRC channel was set up, and in there I found a place I could call home. It was somewhere I felt comfortable being myself. And that is ultimately the reason why I became furry.

hrrmmm.....whut turned me into a furry.... well i guess a lot of things. cartoons, tom and jerry for one and the disney toons. neko kitty art, i've seen a bit as a kid so that got me a bit interested as well as cats in general. i suppose the thing that did drive me over the edge was the fact a few of my friends were anthro artists with their own fursonas and that did the trick. though i still feel a lil unsure about that XD
